Pffft, 3 hours is nothing. I traveled 650 miles to get my revision to DS, paid $40,000.00 out of pocket, had to have 2 surgeries and had a miserable 6 weeks of recovery. But I would do it again in a heartbeat, hell I would do it every year if I had to in order to get what I have with the DS.

But then I lived with a damn RNY pouch for 28 years, so 6 weeks of misery, 40k and 650 miles of travel don't seem like much to get rid of all the excess weigh and be able to eat like a naturally thin person does.  My only regret is that I waited so long to get the revision; should have done it 10 years sooner. Love, love, love my DS.

I have insurance, but it doesn't cover anything related to WLS. It was either self pay or stay in RNY hell and fat prison, the money I spent was the best money I ever spent and the best investment I've ever made, and I've made some very good investments.

I'm traveling to another country to get ds as well. You are going to live with this the rest of your life, I wouldn't limit myself to my own state.
