Getting closer to 2nd round Insurance submittal

YAY!!!  Today is turning out to be a GOOD DAY!!!  THANK YOU!!!!
Here is some "background" about the latest frustration:
http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/revision/4119377/X-post-Up date-on-my-journey/#33615071

But, I did get in and see my PCP on Monday night, We went over my sleep study as well.

It turns out I do have Obstructive Sleep Apena.  (Another co-morbidity)  Not that I was too overjoyed for the news.

***I will not be having my RNY to DS revision done in Alaska***

Anyways, my PCP asked how my appointment went with the other doctor who he referred me to have the EGD done, and my reply was "Well, I ended up having 2 appointments with him, and I had a CAT scan done... but he never schedueld me for an EGD."  I think my PCP was a little suprised.  I also said "Maybe the surgeon and I did not get off on the right foot, and maybe he was not happy with me."  And, then I went on to fill-in my PCP about the day after the initial appointment with the surgeon, how he had balls to call me up at work and proceed to tell me that what I wanted was impossible.  My PCP eyebrows raised at what I said next.  *You have to know me*  So, I had gotten very quiet on the phone, because the age old saying of ""If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all""  I told my PCP, that, I had a CAT scan scheduled, and then, another follow-up with the surgeon, and I said that I got on the internet, and printed a couple of Pub Med articles, along with a paper written by Dr. K in California, on DOUDENAL SWITCH IS A SAFE OPERATION FOR PATIENTS WHO HAVE FAILED OTHER BARIATRIC OPERATIONS. Then, I went on to say, I had my CAT Scan done, and went back in to see the surgeon for the results of the CAT Scan, and I was also hoping to walk out of that appointment with an EGD scheduled........ which DID NOT happen............ So, my PCP sees him at the hospital, and said that he would talk to him for me, about getting an EGD scheduled.  YAY!!!!  But, to wrap up the last part of my visit with the surgeon... the one who said that it was "impossible" for me to have a revision form my RNY to a DS, said that, "OK, it is possible to have that done, you sure are persistant."

So, I know am waiting on the call to say that the EGD is scheduled, and, according to the letter that I received from the secondary insurance company back in October, that, hopefully, should be the LAST thing, and so we can get the papers rounded up to re-submit to them!!!  HIP HIP HOORAY!!!!

Things are getting better!

I have been keeping in contact with Dr. Keshishian's office in California since last spring/summer.  I have been keeping in contact with Diana Lopez.  Did you get to meet her, at all?  Just looking for a little feedback, is all.

He's wonderful, you'll be in great hands. Diana is in Delano and I was in his new office in Glendale.  The woman who works there is named Talen I believe, she's very nice.  Feel free to ask any questions, happy to help you any way I can.

Hey Jamie!
Woooo Hooooo for Dr. Keshishian and his office staff!  I haven't met Diana but have spoken with her on the phone a bunch.  She seems very nice and efficient BUT....the golden gal is Talin at his Glendale office.  She is a total crack -up!!!

She emails me with the tease ...."I've got news...call me..) !!  ha ha !
So, yesterday we were talking surgery dates!  ... Oh my gosh!  ....  I've got cold feet and am "thinkin things through"!!!

Anyway....just wanted to send my kudos to the Dr. K group too!

Sounds great Jamie; your persistence is paying off! You're going to get your DS, yes you are...

Like Debbie, I'm wondering if you have a surgeon picked out; who are you going to have do your revision?

Thanks for the encouragement!!!!

I have $$ for doctor fees set aside, enough airline miles for a ticket.  I plan on having Dr. Keshishian do my revision.  I contacted his office and have great faith in the doctor and his staff.  I have family in California, and Nevada, so that will cut down on some of the expenses, since I will be traveling from Alaska.
