Had LapBand in 2003. Went from 290 to 215 within about 2 years. But last 2-3 years I have had nothing but problems. Severe regurgitation, weight gain, etc. Saw Dr. David im (Colleyville, TX) today to discuss revision surgery. He is considering my options and I have another appointment next Friday. We are leaning toward gastric bypass instead of a newer band. Has anyone on this board had revision from band to bypass?  Thanks!

I also had the band in 2003 with nothing but issues. It has taken over 3 years and
I am glad I waited because on 1/18 I had the DS.  Still in the post op stages and struggles, but, no regrets,  I already feel better and pressure relief from where my port was under my sternum.  I was originally thinking bypass until my friends started gaining weight back and so I looked at different options.  I am glad I did.  Good luck on making your decision!
