What kind of revision did you have ? When did you have your revision ? How much weight have you loss after your revision ?  I am not sure what the answer is but I am in the process of getting a revision where my doctor is revising my orginial RNY back to where I started. My orginial surgery was in 2001. My pouch and stoma has stretched and he will go in and make my pouch and stoma back to original size and make any repairs. I am waiting for my surgery date.. Good luck with your revision.

I am 5 months out of my revision from band to bypass.  I am still losing and have 25 lbs more to lose to get to goal.  Hopefully it doesn't stop until then :)

good luck

Honestly MaryJo:

If you revised from Band to RNY you should lose for about a year because you are just like a Virgin Weight Loss Surgery Patient...I don't think you will have a problem at all getting to goal...

Thanks JRolfson, I sure hope you are right.  Several surgeons have said that typically people who have revised to a bypass don't have as significant weight loss as those who are having bypass first time.  I haven't really experienced that although I may have lost a little slower over the past 5 months but I feel great, have 25 lbs to go to goal and extremely happy with the bypass.  Have a wonderful day.  Maryjo

Hi Mary Jo:

From what I've seen and read I would think you would have great success as a first time Revision to RNY....the folks who don't do as well on revisions are usually those who have had RNY and Revise to something else because their metabolism has changed significantly and the human body becomes amazingly smart when it comes to storing fat and disallowing weight loss after a restrictive/malabsorptive procedure...I don't think Lap Band is in that category therefore making you really a Virgin Weight Loss Surgery Patient...

Good Luck I know you will be successful.

Hi:

If you don't mind me asking can you tell me what your surgeon shortened your common channel to? I also was revised from RNY to ERNY or very Distal RNY. I have lost 55 lbs since May of last year.

Thanks,

JRolfson
