Goal weight???
How do individuals determine a goal weight? I am 5'7'. According to the BMI calculator, my weight should be 159 lbs to have a bmi of 24.9 which is considered normal weight for me. I suppose my goal weight will be 150 lbs. Being 150 lbs is something I can never recall being. How did you determine your goal weight?
BMI isn't very accurate for us because we have dense bones from carrying the excess weight and we usually have a lot of extra skin so it's hard to know what your idea weight should be. I've found that I like to go by body fat % ideal being between 12 & 22%. Mine is now bounding between 21 & 23 % so I'm right there, but my BMI is still 27.4 - 28 which is overweight.
You just have to take a guess and then check out how you look and feel when you get close; it's also a good idea to get your body fat % checked; then you know where you are.
