StomaphyX Procedure

Hi All,

I have a couple of questions, if you don't mind.  Has anyone had the StomaphyX done?
Did your insurance company cover it?  If so, which insurance did you have?

Hopefully you have better luck than I did.  I had a Stomophyx in October 2007 and initially lost 8 pounds during first two weeks of liquids, etc.  Once I went back on a normal WLS diet, I gained that back -- I am now UP 20 pounds even more than when I had the surgery!

It is so discourgaging to have gone through what I did to not have the success I had hoped for. 

What have you been through Sharon?

I had gastric bypass / RNY done back in 1980-81 lost the weight, but eventually gained it all back. I got a revision to DS Sept. 17, 2008 and I'm loving it.

Check my profile if you want to know more about what I've been through; it's been quite a trip to get to where I am now. But I haven't felt like this for a very very long time; it's wonderful.

I have BCBS Horizon Direct Access. They don't cover Stomaphyx or ROSE, because the data shows that they really don't work.

 Stomaphyx does not work.  My surgeon Dr. Garber in NY stopped performing these because the results were horrible.  He now does the ROSE procedure and has had great results.  I had the result and it has worked great.  Good luck.

Are you starting this nonsense again?  The ONLY time you post here is to push your doctor and that stupid worthless procedure. 

Maybe your surgeon should buy an ad instead of sending you over here all the time encouraging people to totally blow their money.

Nope, insurance does not cover it and it does not work.  But it will empty your bank account.
