Today is World Aids Day. By respecting and protecting ourselves and others we can stop the spread of HIV and end HIV prejudice. Educate yourself, family and friends on HIV. Know your HIV status: get tested if you have put yourself at risk. Use condoms always. If someone u know has HIV respect them and their status by not telling others without their agreement. Wear a red ribbon to symbolize support and awareness.

P.S. If you are an IV drug user please seek drug rehabilitation to stop the drugs, but if you are not at that point atleast be sure to NOT share needles EVER.

This is a very important cause to me as I have lost two family members to this disease and I also have one who got it through birth currently is surviving with the disease.

I have seen the prejudice and ignorance that is displayed when it comes to this matter and feel very strongly that through education and tolerance that one day there will be no more suffering.

THIS IS NOT A GAY DISEASE!!!!!!

It is a human disease and everyone straight, gay, bi, gay for pay, and even innocent children, men or women who are raped are at risk.

Take this time to educate yourself and if you feel that this is not something you should worry about because you are married or you trust your partner and know that they would never cheat on you think again.

Never say never.

There are more women and men affected by this disease through spouses or partners who swore they were faithful, but were living double lives than you will ever know.

Never place yourself up so high that you cannot see that you too could be at risk.

Educate, Respect, and Protect.

Thank you for posting this. I have had HIV and AIDS touch my life too many times. I have lost loved ones. I hope to someday see a cure, but for now all we have is prevention.
