You'll probably get a bigger set of responses if you post this on the revision board.

I don't know about a reversal; but here are two excellent surgeons located in TX. They both do revisions, so I would assume they could do a reversal as well:

I didn't know Dr. Wilson was affiliated with UT Physicians or that Memorial Hermann Hospital was also affiliated with UT.
  Interesting...

Hi Pat,
I had a revision from lapband to RNY gastric bypass, and am just sorry I didn't do it sooner.

Dr Wade Barker is an excellent revision surgeon. He is at 1151 N. Buckner Bl., Dallas, TX

Why do you wish you had doen this sooner?  What type or problems did yo have??

I had a revision from LapBand to DS.  I wish I had done it sooner because I suffered a year or so that I didn't really have to suffer.  (I had the band a total of three years.)

I had esophageal dysmotility.  The esophagus just stops "massaging" food on down to the stomach with any reliability.  Sometimes, I could eat a small meal, other times, the third spoon of soup had me running to the restroom to barf it all up.

If this sounds familiar and you have any questions, I can tell you more.  If not, that's probably more than you wanted to hear!

Harleychick,

I wish I had done it sooner because I had the band 2 1/2 yrs and only lost 30 lbs by 4 mos. post -op, never lost anymore and developed esophagitis, bad reflux, and could never go above 2.5cc fill without everything getting stuck. I never had restriction at less than 2.5cc and anything more than that caused major sticking and vomiting.. So it was fill, unfill, fill unfill until I finall developed a band slip. It was just a miserable 2 yrs.. Feel free to ask more questions if you like.

I am ten months out from Lap RNY.  I am seriously considering having the surgery reversed.
I did tons of research before I had the sugery, went to several  seminars.  But I did not expect the change that the surgery has put on my life and my family's.

I've been told I may have to have a feeding tube put in soon. I am not hungry and its just a mess.
I'm getting ready to go into a size 2 jeans.

Question-- I have did a lot of searching and there is not a lot of info on Reversals out there. I know it can be done.
Does anyone know a doctor that has experience with this?  I live in Texas , however I will do what I have to do to find a good surgeon.

Thanks for your help.  Please don't judge me, I'm not the norm having this problems..
