Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of or seen someone go from having a RNY to convert to DS?

Was your RNY not as successful as you hoped? How long ago was your RNY? Is your insurance covering the revision?

Yep me! I had RNY / Gastric Bypass done in 1980; I lived with it for 28 years before getting a revision to DS. It's a difficult surgery, so you need a very experienced DS surgeon, of which CA has a number. Just make sure you consult with one who can do it before you decide what you want to do. Some surgeons will tell you it's too dangerous or that it can't be done and that is not true.

Fell free to PM me of you want to; you can also read my profile if you want to know more about the 28 years of RNY and what happened.

Here's my 1 year post; it tells quite a bit about what it's like:

You're going about this the right way, research, ask questions, learn what all your options are.
