Hi , I was just wondering if anyone had heard of CENTRAL STATE Insuarance and if there are any known limits on bartric surgery ? I am post RNY 5/04 and I am needing some sort of revision , I am thinking the Lap Band , but not sure on that .

My husband Ins changed to this company and I am hoping that it will pay . They are part of the Teamsters so I am thinking so . Okay well thanks in advance and any topics on rivisoin after bypass welcome.

Thank You , Beth

I suggest that you have your surgeons office insurance specialist call your insurance company to see if they will cover a revision.  They usually will if there is a "mechanical failure" of the original surgery.  Doctor will usually attest to that if he believes it to be true.

If you call your insurance you need to ask if there are "exclusions" against weight loss surgery.

I am having a Band over Bypass (BOB) on 11/24 and am dealing with an insurance company that says they will cover a revision, but since my surgeon is out of network they will only pay 70% of $999.50 (yes, I said 70% of nine hundred and ninety-nine dollars).  I am working with the surgeon.  Praying Aetna pays up!!!  Awaiting results of insurance audit.

Best wishes!

Thanks Karen for your input > I did actually call the insuarance comapnay and yes they already told me that no form of WLS was covered , but I had not thought about the mechanical faluire part of it and I do recall my suergeon mentiing that one time , so I think I will presue that venture and try to get in this week.

Thanks Again , Beth
