I use a Tanita (KD-160) that I'm very happy with. It has a bowl but can be used with just a paper towel or coffee filter because you can easily re-zero (tare) the scale. No whistles or bells but Tanita stands behind their products and it's accurate.
Be sure the buttons are easy to operate and that the display is easy to read. I bought mine straight off the Tanita website for cheaper than Amazon. The Competitive Edge is a certified seller - you can trust them.
