Anyone here have a revision with Dr. Marchesini

Looking for anyone who has been revised from an RNY to a modified BPD that Dr. M. does. He says it's a safer proceudure than a true DS.  He basically gives you a DS but your pouch remains. He says results are the same without a lot of the risk that comes with a DS.
Anyway, would love to talk to someone who has been down this path to see how it's going.
Thanks,
Debbie

It may be easier for him to perform, therefor less surgical risk, but as for as a surgery to live with, I'd run.

You will have the pouch mal-absorption (and all the other pouch bs) of the RNY, combined with the intestinal mal-absorption of the DS. That's an awful lot to keep up with, not to mention you don't even get to lose the issues of the pouch if you have stoma issues, dumping, no NSAIDS, no drinking with/after meals, and the unscopable remnant stomach. The ease for the surgeon (his lack of skill) is not worth the real issues may have with mal-nutrition.

For a list of surgeons, including those skilled enough to do revisions, look at DSfacts.com.
