Hello,

I am scheduled to have gastric bypass (rny) revision from Lap band, and was wondering for those who have had the same, what is the biggest difference that you have noticed?  I know everyone is different, but I'm just curious.

I'm just trying to gather as much info as possible!  I'm sure you can all appreciate that!

Hello there!!!!

Here is a useful site for you.  It has diagrams of ALL of the weight loss surgeries.

I'm only a month postop, but so far, the biggest difference for me is the much quicker weight loss.  I've lost almost as much in the one month, as I had lost in the entire 2 years with a lapband.  Plus, I just feel better.  Hard to describe.  It definitely was the right thing to do.

For me it was a true sense of fullness and I never was able to lose any weight with the band.  Good luck to you Nancy.

I am having my band removed and will have gastric bypass (rny) Oct. 20,09 and I am scared but had an infection at the port and this is my second band I just seem to maintain but not lose I still need to lose at least another 85 pds to be where I should be. I am scared but happy to more forward after being on stand by for so many months.
