Starting from scratch
I had RNY 3+ years ago. I won't bore you all with my story, but I am looking into revision. I have an appointment with a doctor I am not familiar with on Oct. 13.
I've read a lot of posts here that say DO YOUR RESEARCH. My problem is, I don't even know where to begin and what to research. I have gotten a little familiar with all of the different revision procedures, but it seems like I am finding more opinions than medical facts. I want to go to this appointment knowing a little something, and see what the doc's opinion is.
Second issue is....I'm a wuss. I am really squeamish (for lack of a better word) when it comes to medical stuff. Not having it done, but talking about it. I actually threw up on my bari surgeon when he showed me a diagram of what he was going to do. I'm afraid this makes me seem like an uninformed or unintelligent consumer when it comes to my health care.
My question is: does anyone know of some good research sites that have simple diagrams relating to the different procedures? Also, any tips you have on research would be helpful.
