The only problem with the second opinions is that other GI's don't seem to want to "see" a patient unless they did the original GP. Anyone else experience that? I know that MY Dr won't see anyone that he did not do the GP on..I've been in his office and heard his secretary tell people that on the phone.
Don't know how far you are from Dayton, but premier bariatirics, Dr. Maguire should be willing to see you. He was not my original surgeion, and my original surgeon does not do any type of revisions( at that time).

I also recieved his home phone number! He is a good dr! He has been doing this since 78
Just doesn't believe in full ds revisions as he will tell you the loss is the same to do bowel only to ds.
I am truly sorry to hear that you are going through all of this.
I have no advice for you other than to agree with Jamie and suggest you get a second or third opinion.
There are a lot of doctors out there who will not touch you unless they did the original surgery, but there are a lot that will.
I will keep you in my prayers.

No doctor so far has been willing to help her, but she does have some options to see two other doctors who are willing to help her.
She had to call around though.
She got some no's at first, but she did get two who will see her and hear her case out.
Never give up.
Use that anger to get what you need done accomplished..
Just keep hitting the list of WLS surgeons on this site who do revisions and explain your situation to them of why you need to have your surgery revised.
I know it is real easy to feel depressed and let down and just want to give up because of your situation, but from what you have explained you have no time for that as your life depends on your ability to be your own advocate and fight.
I wish you well.
