I have a question:  well, 2:

1) In a TYPICAL scenario...for an RNY, how much intestine, on average, is bypassed?

2) In a TYPICAL scenario...for an ERNY, how much intestine, on average is bypassed?

ok, 3:

3) So, what is the AVERAGE TOTAL intestinal bypass in cms and inches/feet???

Need to know!  I'm racking my brain because I am not good at math.

:)  Thanks!

My surgeon has said that the "gold standard" RNY is 100 cm bypassed.  This is 1 meter, which is 39 inches.

The ERNY or distal RNY I believe is around 160 cm.  I've been approved for this conversion, but haven't had the "number" conversation with my doctor as yet.  My surgery is scheduled for December 14th.

Hopefully, one of the ERNY post-op people here will have more information about the ERNY.
