Any Band to RNYer's??
Hi Erin,
I have been going thru a similar issue. My insurance, United Health Care denied my band to rny revision (even tho my doctor indicated my band has slipped and has to go). However, I was very lucky and he got on the phone, called the insurance company and explained the necessity. 2 Days later they changed their decision and approved my surgery. I'm scheduled for next Tuesday 9/8. Am nervous now and keep getting the should I, shouldn't I's, but hopefully all will go well. My recommendation is stick with it, fight the fight, and try to get your doctor to be an advocate for you as well.
Best of luck to you...
Peggy

Erin I revised after having my lap band removed due to GERD and not losing weight with it. The pains I had put me in the ER to rule out my heart and after that it was a quick removal. I suppose I'm lucky that eight months after that I revised to RNY and insurance covered all of my procedures. Good luck to you, Nancy.
