insurance says plan won't cover, but then does??

I called my ins. co and they said my employer didn't purchase the WL plan...has anyone had this experience then they do cover??

Welcome to the world of self pay. :o(

If your employer does not pay the additional premium for WLS benefits then there is not a lot you can do.
