I am new to the Revision Forum....just now looking into something.   I need a little help with some terms.   What is the ERNY?

Thanks,
Dorothy E.

It is an Extended RNY...From what I understand they shorted your common channel so that you have greater malabsorption. I think in some instances they may aso tighten your stoma and make your pouch smaler.

Hi Dorothy

Mine was done open. My surgeon does it this way so that he can get a more accurate measurement and also  He was able to correct  scar tissue and adhesions I had.   also I believe he checks to make sure the intestine is not kinking anywhere.

I am sure  some Dr's do it lap procedure.

I was happy that I had a job that allowed me to take the 4 weeks off work - even if I did feel great after 2

Like the first surgery I believe this can be done LAP but will be converted to open if cir****tances (such as excess scar tissue) require...x

Excellent question - I could not find a good answer online until I saw this post.  Still not totally clear - but sounds just like starting over to me. :-)
