Hey Monique, How are you?

I believe the formula is:

take your starting weight  mine pre-revision   232

Minus  goal weight                                         154

excess weight                                                  78

take the amount of weight you have lost             36

divide weight lost by amount of excess weight    46 percent

or can use original pre-wls weights                   280

goal weight                                                     154

excess weight                                                  126

amount lost since original surgery                      84

divide weight lost by total excess weight            66 percent

I had went from a proximal to ERNY (75 cc) last Oct.  I am very happy with my choice.  I have lost all my excess weight.  I do  not dump and can eat about anything I want within reason, including meats.  I avoid excess simple carbs as they are every WLSers enemy.  I do have to be very diligent about my vitamins and protein intake, again as every version of wls with malabsorption should.

For me the ERNY was my choice and I knew what I was getting going into it.  Like others have mentioned....if it is a DS you want then go for it.  Don't be pushed into a procedure you are not comfortable with or do not want.  Or if you are considering a distal RNY since it is what was offered then research it and make sure you are comfortable with it.

Good Luck!
