?? for post-op RNY to ERNY people

My insurance has approved my revision from RNY to ERNY.  I have 2 questions:

1.  with lap surgery and no complications, how long was your hospital stay?
2.  with no post-op complications, how long before you went back to work?  My work involves sitting on my butt, yelling at computers all day.

Thanks in advance--

Sue .

ERNY = extended RNY, aka distal, has more intestines bypassed.
RNY, aka proximal

My pouch is fine, not stretched.  I need more malabsorption.

I had my surgery at like 6pm and was on my home by 5pm the next day. No complications. I was back to work in a week and I have a very physical job.  Things went smooth and continue to head that way.

Good luck to you!

Mine was done open and I was off 4 weeks. could have gone back after 2. but wanted to be healed up good  and not exposed to 1500 people.  sitting was not an issue.

I deleted the above message because I wasn't sure if you'd want to hear from me or not.  You know I am struggling too...always have been.  I was up to 42 bmi this past winter and very depressed about it.  I am glad you are extending.  If you are like me you need all the help you can get.  I had $3500 put away on flexibens last November for a revision co pay for this year but it didn't work out.  I wish I could give it to you because I am going to lose it in Dec.  Anyways, congratulations and good luck to you.  I hope everything goes smoothly and your RNY will finally work.  take care,
