Hi,

I come here often and I am a revision from lapband to sleeve. Most docs say that with revision there is slower loss, but at least in my case, my revision was a major success with great losses. It would be great if all revisions could post their stats so we could be inspired!!

My stats:
Highest weight: 348
Lapband surgery weight 6/23/03: 334
Lowest band weight: 180
Revision from band to sleeve due to band slippage: March 2008
Surgery weight: 242
Present weight: 167

Total lost: 169 pounds
Pounds lost with sleeve: 75
Pounds lost with band: 92

I too, revised from band to sleeve.  I was at goal when I was revised so I can't comment on weight loss with revision.

My highest weight 252 (BMI 41)
Lap band 12/06
Lowest weight with the band: 125
Revision 6/08 to sleeve w/BMI of 20.8
Currently 120 or a 20 BMI.

Total lost 132 pounds of blubber.

At goal and loving my sleeve!

That is wonderful Babs !!   Terrific to hear and good for you !
Are you still coming to Vancouver soon ?   I'd love to meet with you (like we talked about) and now I have a new friend who is undergoing revision.  She got her lap band removed about 2 weeks ago ... and is having the Sleeve tomorrow !
She is nervous and excited and scared, like we all were, and I know she would LOVE to meet you, too !

What kind of revision did you have?  Was it as difficult as the first?  Were you cut open for your RNY?  Sorry, so many questions.  I created a post and no one replied so I hope to hear from you.  My RNY was Aug 03 and I did fine until the past few months.  I have gained aout 40 lbs in the past 4-5 mo.  I had total hysterectomy in Jul 08 and was doing well (in terms of not gaining weight) til Jan-Feb this year.  I am looking into revision but not sure if I can handle being cut open again but want the best results.  Was your insurance ok with a revision?

Hello all!

I have been told by my doc that he thinks I should consider a revision.  My pouch and intestines didn't heal correctly so I can't eat anything of substance, especially meats, without a lot of pain and nausea.  I am not sure if I want to do the revision, maybe becoming a vegetarian is a good thing.  I can only eat a few ounces of anything at a time and that along with the no meats might be a good thing.  Any thoughts from those if you that have been through it.  Thank you all so much in advance!!!!!!!!!!!
