My nerves are getting the best of me!!!!  A little freak out, that after all of the hoops I am jumping through, that insurance will REFUSE a revision.  AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!
Started a doctor-supervised diet back in January (my BMI was 40.3)
My BMI was 39.8 this past Friday, but I don't think that I have any co-morbidites (yet....)  Need to check into possible sleep apnea.  I know that I have hiatial hernia, would that even qualify as a co-morbidity?
No high blood Pressure
No weight-related asthma
Cholesterol was good back in October with my labs
No diabetes

Any other co-morbidities I should check into?

Just curious, here.......
I am looking into having a revision from RNY to a DS.

Any thoughts, info on Dr. Rabkin or Keshishian?

(I also posted this on the DS board)
Thank You!!!!
-Jamie

I do not think so.  I have aches & pains.
I work in a warehouse with guys, so, I usually "suck it up" and do not whine about anything.  Cause they all have wives!!!  HA HA HA

Dont give up ! Dont Stress.

Most comp will refuse 1st time request, Thats when you leave it up to your Dr to send the correct info ... Best to get a copy of your policy and see what their guidleines are -- I got mine due to not loosing more than 50% of excess weight 2 yrs out ... was very close !! But Black & White Print  was my friend - I also spoke directly to the underwriter who made the decission.

Also check with your cardiac doc and whoever did your lung/breathing test.  You might still have some co-morbidities there.

Sheryl Tilley - 380/204/160 - October 28th, 2005 -  Thank you God; my handsome PCP Dr. Rejiv Jetley in Prescott Valley, Arizona; my knowledgeable and talented surgeon Dr. Hilario Juarez in Phoenix, Arizona; and all my wonderful and amazing friends on this website that got me to this point.  You all saved my life.

I did not have a cardiac doc, but I did have the pulmonary test, but it was done by the respitory tech at the hospital.  I did get those records, last week, finally.

THANKS!!!!

Jamie:

Both Dr. Rabkin and Dr. Keshishian are excellent choices for the conversion you seek...Frankly if the insurance will cover I believe Dr. K is the best choice as he was the ground breaker for RNY to DS Revisions....He has a clinical study that is accessible online which shows the results of 40+ patients he gave a RNY to DS Revision and all had good outcomes....This trial was several years ago and I know he has done many, many since....

Good Luck,

Stay Positive and don't ever give up hope.

It sounds like you have insurance so be careful with Dr. Rabkin. I had contacted his office only to find out that they do not accept insurance but will help you submit it. You have to pay several thousand up front and if your insurance reimburses you (remember he will be considered "out of network") they will refund you. My insurance will not pay for out of network dr's so I abandoned that route quickly. As for  Dr. Keshishian be sure to check program fees. I heard they are a killer.  It is great you are doing research!
I ended up with Dr Husted because it was much cheaper to travel to Somerset, Kentucky, he accepted my insurance, he has no program fees, AND he is awesome and experienced. He used to work with Dr Rabkin before going to Kentucky.
My revision has been tough and I have had lots of complications so please go into this with your eyes wide open. It is lots harder than the original procedure.
