My Surgery Date Has Finally Arrived!!
Hi all,
As most of you know, I am having my lap-band over RNY revision surgery on Thursday, 5/28/09. I have survived the dreaded liquid diet (and lost 7 lbs doing it!! YAY!) and now the butterflies have arrived in my stomach. Oddly enough, I welcome them with open arms. It is not because I am nervous...more so excited for my second chance at this healthy lifestyle.
I am proud of myself for confronting my disgusting food addiction this time and getting my mind right through professional help BEFORE I take this surgical step. I wish I had done that the first time in addition to the cookie-cutter "psychological evaluation" they require before WLS.
But bye-gones will be bye-gones and the future is where I'm headed....the loser's bench to be exact.
Wish me luck everyone!!!!! I will keep everyone posted on how things go. Bye for now!

Lisa!!!! Keep me posted on your recover and weight loss. Boy, I hope we can connect "live" very soon when you're up for a chat, because many people may be helped if you share your ROSE success strategies and experience...
Next month, I'm headed to the Obesity Help Conference in Chicago and ASMBS in Dallas. So, hopefully something in btwn these trips might work???
If you are up to it, will you email me directly or send me Beat Weight Regain with ROSE member group private message and maybe we can exchange contact information...
Blessings to you during your procedure!!!!

Hi Roz,
Actually, due to the lack of official statistics regarding the success of the ROSE procedure (a high percentage of what I found from actual patients online was not positive), I have opted for the lap-band over bypass. I feel this is the best option for me.
I will still be sure to keep you posted! :)

Hey Lisa, thanks for the update... Yes. Unfortunately the first 100 ROSE procedures (in the medical registry) generated unsatisified patients. And from these early cases several things have changed, for examples, surgeons are operating the device better and making the stoma smaller for better results.
Now folks like Dr. Garber are talking about the differences btwn ROSE and Stomaphyx. All that said band over bypass works and it will work for you.
Plus, I get the impression that you're not just counting on the surgery to bring you complete success!!!!
Definitely keep me posted on your progress.
Much love,
Roz
