I was SOOOOOO close to wimping out!!!  All of the "insurance" jargan is so confusing to me, I swear, It literally just shuts my poor brain down!!!

I asked a "general" question about coverage for bariactric revision surgery: The primary says: "non-surgical or medical necessity for coverage." The secondary says: "actually excluded in the plan"  And she went on to say to definately submit the co-pays into them, they still might cover some of the expenses.

So, not getting my hopes too high

Awww, Jamie, if it is meant to be it will be. I am sure you will be fine. If your PCP is behind you then you should be fine....

Good Luck!

Thanks, Mary!!!!

I really like my PCP, but he just does not know a whole lot about this field.  And I do not think that I would have anyone here in Alaska touch me for a revision.  I have no problem, at all, traveling to have it done, but it is just a frustrating stumbling block being in Alaska.  Oh well, it'll all fall in place

At least you got a reply of some sort to work your way through.  I called my insurance company to find out the types of data that they wanted to evaluate in considering revision surgery.  My insurance company told me that there is a separate company that performs the surgical pre-authorizations.  Ok, so I called them.  They told me that they couldn't tell me anything, because I'm "only the patient".  So, my doctor wil request the authorization and we'll find out what information they want to see.  Same old games, maybe worse, that we played before my original surgery in 2004.

Good luck in your dealings with your company.

Sue .

Seriously.  All that they want?  Is for you to just give up & walk away.  That's it.

Here's to hoping that your doc can get you some answers!!!!
