Hi.

I'm looking for referral to well qualified revision surgeons (RNY to DS) in California.

Also wanted to here from those who have had success with this type of revision.

Thanks,

Cassandra

I have been doing some asking & researching, and this all I know.....

-  Dr. Jossart in
San Francisco, California has done 150 DS surgeries and has done many revisions (as of 9/2007). -  Dr. Cirangle in San Francisco, California has performed hundreds of DS procedures, including revisions from RNY.
-  Dr. Rabkin in
San Francisco, California performs RNY-to-DS revisions, according to several members on the DS board.   -  Dr. Keshishian in Glendale, southern California performs RNY-to-DS revisions.  However, he charges a $4K fee upfront for revisions that are not covered by insurance.  Plus, he requires his out-of-town patients to stay in a hotel for 10 days after being released from the hospital. -  Dr. Crookes in Los Angeles, southern California performs RNY-to-DS revisions, according to several members on the DS board.

I have done a lot of research on this very topic Cassandra...I can tell you that in California the (2) best RNY to DS Revision Surgeons are Rabkin and Keshishian....

I was surprised to find out that Dr. Keshishian did a study on several patients from RNY to DS and the results were very positive. No mortalities, out of about 40 patients...and fixable post op problems.

I was referred to Dr. K from another renouned RNY to DS Surgeon so that says a lot about him to me.

Good Luck on your research. I will have ERNY Revision surgery on May 20th. I know how hard it is to make a decision but my financial situation really made it for me.
