Back from my appt and have my band revision to RNY date!
Congratulations Rose on the Good News!
June seems to be a good month for revisions...lol. Mine was June 9th of last year. You will be so happy when you have this done and start seeing the weight drop like crazy. I lost 23 lbs. in 2 weeks so my doc was real happy at my first post-op appt. During one my appts. last year he said he had never seen me so small....
You know I can eat so normally and I could never do that with the lapband.....I am thrilled for you!

Lapband to RNY
117 lbs. lost as of 09-08-10

Rose,
Dr. Lautz did my lap with nine little holes. He used some of the original holes from my lapband. So the biggest incision was the incision where the port was about 1 1/2 inches long.
I am curious why he would do it open as didn't you have it lap before. I think Dr. Lautz has been doing these surgeries longer than Dr. Jones so may have a bit more experience. Plus he did a gastric bypass using the DaVinci robot several years ago.
The open will be okay as I know someone that had open RNY with my doctor six years ago and her incision was really tiny. Just so you know you will probably end up with a hernia with the open which will help get a tummy tuck covered...lol.
I am so excited for you! The time will fly right by! You will be able to eat normal....how cool is that. No one would know I had WLS by watching what I can eat.

I know he hasnt done a whole lot....under 10 I beleive. I totally trust him. He actually did one on Tues too! I asked him why open and not lap. He said after 3 yrs he doesnt know whats under there for scar tissue and just wants to be able to get his "hands in there"...
hernia?? really? are my chances of getting one high? yikes...
I cant wait to see the weight come off again.....I just cant.
