I had a stomaphyx about 7 weeks ago.  I've lost 25 lbs so far.  I'm doing pretty good to staying under 1000 calories a day.  However, I'm concerned that if I'm eating that few calories, and burning about 300 calories a day, how am I going to lose weight.  Everything I've read or seen, says that if you exercise, you need to eat more to lose weight.   I'd be very interested to hear your weight loss stories.  How do you eat so little and still lose weight?

Why would you only be burning 300 calories a day? I thought that we generally used up more than that just from breathing and stuff.

Exercise increases your need for protein - you're building muscles from it. So its not so much the amount of calories as what they are made from.

Can't help with the math though - DSers have their own way of working intake out, and the more we eat (provided its fat and protein) the more we lose. Well done though on the 25lbs, thats really great!
