I am very excited, but nervous too.  I am worried I won't succeed this time either!
I tried very hard the first 18 months and never made it to goal with my rny.

My DH is taking his laptop for entertainment and I will have him post for me and let you know how its going!

I have been on the pre-op diet, boy its kind of tough, but I have been doing very well with it so far.
Thanks for all the good wishes, and I can't wait till you join me!

I have asked specifically WHO is being paid, in order to actually call the surgeon's office. Why? To put it to rest. It's stupid, and I guess nobody will answer me directly.
All I see are specious accusations. Shele, I could tell people you are really a surgeon in disguise! And I guess the crazies would jump on it and have a field day!
Or I could be the surgeon for a day.
The reality of the whole deal is that it doesn't matter who says what, people are smart and can speak, think, act, research, and choose for themselves. And if they aren't smart enough for that, a qualified health specialist should help them to do these things as far as weight loss surgery is concerned, not strangers on a message board.
I want to help in any way I can, but not as a substitute  for thinking things through and getting your own information.
I am very happy to see you here on this site, and hope to watch you make an amazing journey with the rest of us.

Sally,  Exactly right.  I guess I have tried to stir the pot a little in hopes of making "lurking ERNYers" to feel OK.  I am about to have this surgery and I want people for help and advice!  ( And for anyone worried I am not intelligent enough, I don't replace anything with my surgeons advice!)  just wanted to clarify!

AND I am pretty sure it is standard protocol to go through a psychological exam before any weight loss procedure.  I am positive any psychologist worth their LISCENSE would weed out anyone not ready or informed enough to start a whole new way of life!

I have read back twice at the posts I believe some are referring to, and I find nothing but positive support,  and I also recall reading in a profile before she had to make it private, of the problems they said were secret!

Jeez people, give it up!

Hey Sally?  Can I have the surgeons pay? LOL

Dear Shele and Sally:

The saddest thing about this entire situation. Is for people like Shele and myself, and I believe there are others, who are planning ERNY because it is what is best for us.

We want to hear from those that have had the ERNY.  We need them to share, update, give us there successes, failures.  But sadly those folks have chosen to remain silent or blocked for the sake of being attacked on this forum.

Shele I agree with you, I have been reading from the beginning all the mud slinging on these boards and I can truly say that I have never heard nor have I received anything but what seemed to me true, honest experiences from the ERNY'ers, and I was never procurred or solicited by anyone in that group in anyway.

So I guess Newbies on this revision forum who might currently be researching an ERNY....Will really have to go back and search the threads on this forum to find past surgical experiences from ERNY posters. But when my surgery is done I will be here giving updates daily and hopefully so will you Shele, and those who haven't been run off keep posting....We need the information.

Janie

TOUCHE! Sally....

It would be really nice to have that whole matter put to rest once and for all. There are many on this site who are pretty much silent now due to being maligned and rudely attacked just for sharing their feelings and experiences.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.

Some of us have chosen to lurk again as we don't like the attacks.  I for one have been very busy at work and with other volunteer projects, I haven't had time to be here.  Just taking a minute or two here to tell you I am still here and if you want advise, let me know.  I don't like the attacks and took my profile down because they wouldn't believe me anyway, so what's the point.  I didn't say anything on my profile that wasn't true, it just didn't reflect my entire weight loss since my revision in where they thought it should have, go figure.  I don't have the time or energy to argue this anymore and won't.

Yeah that was ridiculous the way that was bantered about.  It just makes me so angry.

I wonder, they all attack Dr.'s  for not doing the ds surgery.  Did they ever stop and think.... maybe,  just maybe the Dr might not like the ds surgery? hmmmm... He might just have an opinion himself!!
AND don't get me wrong, I would give anything I I would have had the ds from the beginning, it just wasn't in the cards for me.
