Just wondering (hope you don't mind me asking) - you mentioned that your BMI wasn't high enough for the insurance to approve the DS - what is your BMI, and what insurance do you have?  I'm only asking this because I am currently in the process of trying to get my insurance (BCBS of MI) to approve a revision from a lap band to a DS.  My BMI is 39.  My surgeon did tell me that I'll be the "smallest" person he's ever done a DS on, but would do it, if that's what my choice is. 

I'm such a pessimist - I'm anticipating a denial from my insurance, and I don't even know why.  I just wonder if revisions are harder to get approved than first time WLS??!!??

Best of luck to you and your upcoming surgery - because I BELIEVE that it will happen for you !  I have faith for you that this will work out !  My bmi is 41.  But please don't base your ins response to mine. I was iffy about the DS anyway so I feel this is a better choice for me personally.So stick to your guns and fight for what you want!
