6 month diet prior to revision for BCBS PPO Yes or No?

Hi Everyone,

I went to my 1st appointment with the doctor.  The doctor office said that BCBS PPO Federal requires a 6 month diet prior to surgery.  My surgery is going to be a revision to RNY from Lap Band.  I talked to the BCBS PPO Federal Insurance people on the phone 3 different times and they said they could not find requirements for a 6 months diet prior to surgery for revisions anywhere.  Does anyone else know about this???  If there is a web site link that states this requirement please give it to me.

I do not have BCBS but I too am going through the appeal process - and for revision my insurance does NOT require the diet and exercise.... It just requires a nutrition statement stating I hsve regained despite my diligent adherence to the post operative plan
