It sounds like you had a stricture which is a common side effect after RNY and your surgeon went in and removed it.   That should not of caused you to have sever hunger and weight gain.

I love my revision from VBG to my lap band but you need to analyze further what is the reason for the first surgery failing.   I would never recommend someone getting a band simply because it is the only surgery your insurance will pay for.   The band requires more effort to succeed and is definitely not a quick fix.
