sleeve
Hi
It involves the surgical removal of most of your stomach. Rather than making a pouch (RNY) or putting a band on it, or stapling it (bit old fashioned now) the surgeon reshapes your stomach. The old bit is thrown away!
You end up with a thin, banana shaped stomach. Mine (as part of the DS) is now 1oz in capacity, compared to about 20oz before. It means you can physically not eat a lot at any one time. More studies are being done on it -check out the VSG board (vertical sleeve gastrectomy is the other name for it) for more info.
