New year..new me!!!!

After the agony of being denied for revision I got the good news yesterday...I am finally approved for my revision from lap band to gastric bypass!! i am so excited and at the same time very nervous.  This revision will be open and that scares me a lot. However my surgeon needs the room and I don not want to risk my life.
I'd would appreciate any input from those who had an open revision surgery and what can I expect.
I consider myself very fortunate to have a second chance to improve my quality of life.

I just found out I was approved through insurance. I'm being revised from a VBG to a RNY.

Although the doctor will be attempting to do this Lap, I'm fully expecting to be Open because of my previous surgery---it was open too.

I can't tell you what to expect being that it's a revision only that your recovery time will be longer, but wanted to send you look.
