revision? Do many drs do this?

I had my surgery one year ago and I was doing great, down almost 100 lbs, and now it seems that I can eat just about anything, and sometimes do.  I've gained 20 lbs back and don't want to keep going up.  Should I talk to my dr. about revision?  Is the revision surgery getting the stomach surgically smaller again?  Can someone explain please.  My surgeon is Dr. Kligman and would like to know if anyone has had the revision surgery done by Dr. Kligman.  Please reply, I'm soooo depressed I just cant stand looking in the mirror anymore!!!

Julie I'm in the same situation as you.  I had my surgery one year ago and lost 50 pounds with the vsg.  I've gained about the same back I go in in December for a check up and I'm going to ask him about a revision or if a sleeve can be given the bypass.   Keep me posted if you find out anything.

what is the sleeve?

The sleeve is the VSG (vertical sleeve gastrectomy)its the newest surgical option out there where they basically remove 85% of your stomach.

Wow, so many people are not fully informed. Please check out the duodenal switch forum here on OH. All of you check it out and check out DSfacts.com and duodenalswitch.com. Please do not make a decision based on what your Rny or lapband doc told you. The sleeve is actually the first part of the DS. Since you already, one of you, have a sleeve, now go fot the switch part. You are halfway there. Best of luck. Dr. Foote does the DS too whomever has him.
