Goodbye Lapband...Hello RNY

Congratulations! I wish you the best. I am getting revised from band to sleeve on November 11th. I had my saline out since like April and I have gained all my weight back and then some. After it failed, I had no idea what I wanted to do. And it took 8 weeks to get revision approval from my insurance. I would have started sooner if I'd known. But hey everything happens for a reason. I hope and pray this will be the last surgery for all of us. That we will all have healthier lives from now on.

Why did it take so long for your revision to get approved?

The band failed many of us!  You are NOT alone!

What insurance did you have and did it take a long time to get your revision approved?

I HAD MINE REMOVED ON 9/9 AND HAVE LOST 36 LBS SO FAR!....CONGRATS!!

I am having my band removed & revision to RNY on October 28th.  I also went through last supper syndrom prior to going back on the 2 week pre-op diet.   Wasn't necessarily the food so much as we went to Margaritaville and drank instead danced and had that last cheesburger in paradise.  

I wish you the best of luck, hopefully 2009 will bring us all to goal weight.
