JUST TODAY I GOT APPROVED FOR THE BYPASS!!  I got the band in December 2004.  What a waste.....after all this time, I went to a new dr in September and I am waiting for my date now.  It will either be Halloween or the first week in November.  DON'T FEEL LIKE YOU ARE ALONE!!
Keep us posted on your progress!!!  Good Luck!

PS...I just realized we had the same Lapband doctor!  Dr. Geiss.  I loved him and his office staff for a long time.  Then came to realize Dr. Geiss is a wonderful "salesman" of the lapband and I never saw him again.  When I stopped going in regularly you think they would have called...but NOPE.  I guess I wash my hands with them.  The only one I really like in there is Joy-one of the receptionists.  She is a SWEETHEART!

I was banded in 1/06.  I lost 85 pounds but about 75 was in the first year.  This year I started having non-stop acid reflux.  This summer I started not being able to hold down any food even though my band had been emptied.  I had emergency surgery on 8/20 to have my band removed and a RNY on 9/22.  I love my gastric bypass.  I am really sorry that I didn't do that from the beginning...
