News on appeal...

I posted this overon the lap band forum, but I thought I'd also post here...thanks to ObesityLaw.com my appeal was APPROVED!!!!!!  I will be having a band placed over my old  gastric stapling and I am thrilled.  Now I hope that nothing happens medically sise to prevent it.

That is wonderful news!  Can I ask what they did to help with the approval?

Apparently the insurance companies have become quite aware that ObesityLaw will be in the fight until the end, so my thought is that they overturn the decisions that they really and truly know are legit...the ones that they  should have never denied in the first place ...the ones they know would most likely be overturned by an independent review.  I would encourage anyone who gets denied to email ObesityLaw.com because they were fabulous for and to me!!One of the things I like the most about them is that when you call, you actually get Kelley  to talk to most of the time, and not a machine.  Of course not all the time, but a good portion of the time.

I'm so glad for you that you did this and now you are approved.  I've seen people on here that get denied and just plan on going self pay or don't even pursue it further.  I would have appealed, but I was one of the lucky ones and was approved my first time.  Good luck with everything and again, congratulations!

I don't quite understand your question.  I got denied back in July for a band over my old stapling and I contacted Kelley at ObesityLaw and gathered all the stuff she needed and just found out Friday that BC/BS overturned the denial an approved me for the surgery.
