I Won MY Appeal For a Revision!

I received a Fed-Ex letter in the mail from New York State. It came five days after my emergency surgery to remove my band. The state has approved my band removal and revision to RNY. In six pages of decision they said that the insurance company must PAY for my revision and that they had no leg to stand on turning me down!! They wasted my time. Made me have a second surgery. In the end they still have to pay! God is good!

That's just wonderful!! Too bad you have to have another surgery though! Do you know when you are going to have the revision (do you have to wait to recover from the surgery you just had)? I don't recall, did you just have the doctor's office file an appeal or did you get an attorney? Great news! Take care!! Carolyn

I filed my own external appeal to New York State, Now I just have to find out when my surgeon will do the next surgery. I will probably have to heal up from the band removal first...

Congratulations Marcia! Thats brilliant news!

My surgeon preferred to take the band out then wait a couple of months, but the band removal was a quick thing, and I know some surgeons do it all at once - RNY may be different too. Not long now, either way!
