How long did it take from first appt to revision surgery?

Hi everyone,

I'm just starting to look into a revision and I am wondering how long the wait is?  How long did it take from:

1. The time you called to consult?
2. Time from Consult to Surgery?

I know there are a lot of factors in there and each insurance and person is different, I am just looking for general ideas.

For me (band--->DS) it took almost a year, I guess about 10-11 months. Early 2007 they were investigating why my band was not working. Many fluors, and nothing. THen, endoscopy in April 07. Found erosion. Emergency removal surgery, same day. Heal stomach for 6 months. Sep-Oct went in to request revision to DS. 1 month for insurance approval (I had gained all my weight back), DS surgery 10/07.

My first appointment was the beginning of April 08, kept throwing up, weight gain after baby, etc. Went to have an endoscopy the end of April and it showed some mechanical failure. By the middle of May, I had my surgery date, June 17th ERNY! BC/BS of Georgia Thank U as well as Dr. Burrowes and his staff!

Went for preliminary appointment 7/28/08.  Surgery scheduled 8/4/08! Good luck!
