type of staples

Hello, I am seriously thinking about going from a band to a gastric sleeve.  Does anyone know the types of staples they use in your stomach?  Do you have to say something when you have an mri or something?  Thanks!

They used titanium staples when I had my surgery. I heard they were supposed to be the best. As a matter of fact, when I had my surgery it was scheduled for 8 AM and they had to put it on hold because they had run out of the staples over the week-end because of an emergency . They had to have a courier bring them from another hospital 30 miles away. I ended up having my surgery at 10:30 AM. Good luck on your questions!

Ok one more question....do they go off when you go through the airport?  Do you have any other issues with them (mri, etc?)

No problems yet. I never have problems at the airport. As far as MRIs I've only had one up to my waist. I am dealing with a stapleline disruption tho. I'm not sure what happened but will be finding out soon!
