Oh, and another reason you should NEVER self-pay for WLS if you have insurance -- any complications are going to be on your dime.
Unfortunately, you've already seen what can happen after you go out of the country and self-pay.
I speak fluent Spanish (I'm a bilingual teacher) and I would NEVER, EVER do this. Not to knock those who have done so, because for many without insurance it's their only option, but the fallout from such a surgery can mean a lifetime of heartache. Some doctors in the U.S. simply won't touch you afterwards, and as I mentioned, complications are on your tab.
