I was hoping you can help.  I had gastric bypass surgery 4 ½ years ago and I have been slowly gaining weight over the past year.  I exercise 5 times a week and sometimes 2 times a day.  I no longer have a full feeling and feel that my pouch may have stretched.

Before my surgery I weighted 375 lbs.  I was at my lowest weight 2 years ago at 187 lbs.  As of today I weigh 220 lbs.

How can I find out if I’m eligible for a revison.  The only doctor I know of is that performs the Stomaphyx surgery is Dr. Shawn Garber.  Just my luck he does not accept my insurance Anyone have any suggestions?  Is there another type of procedure?  My original surgeon shot me down when I visted last year.  Since then I have quick smoking and started the exercising regimen. I NEED HELP, Thanks

Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Have you looked into a clinical trial?  Check out this website: http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00411489?term=nct00411489+AND+TP0165+AND+Endoscopic+Stomach+and+Pouch+Reduction+in+Patients+With+Weight+Regain+Following+Roux-En-Y+Bypass+Surgery&rank=1    If the link doesn't work, just to to http://clinicaltrials.gov and search for Identifier: NCT00411489.  My understand is there is some minimal charge but the lion's share of it is free (paid for by the study sponsor).  If it sounds interesting to you, email or call the contact person and she can tell you the site closest to you.  I had a similar procedure (RESTORe clinical trial) done last week, but they have capped enrollment. Thanks for the message.  I had my stomaphyx done on 5/2/08 by Dr. Vohra.  I was the 1st patient at South Nassau Hospital to have it done.  I'm doing good.  Hopefully this will help me :)
