Waiting game now

Hi everyone, I don't mean to sound whiny but I need encouragement and prayers. Back in October I wrote about being so miserable with my band I had the restriction removed after two years of unsuccessful attempts to work with it and around it.  You can read my profile, I've kept an updated blog of all that has been happening if you're interested in the read and feel free to post comments and provide your gems of wisdom or critiques. Anyway, since I removed my restriction in my band back in October 2007 I've been doing the rounds with all the doctors and specialist needed to send to the insurance...all has been done, nut, psych eval, primary doctor and then some.  A heart echo was ordered a couple of weeks ago.  The preliminary blood work came back with concerns about diabetes and cholesterol on top of the hypertension I was already experiencing.  So I went back last week for a glucose intolerance test (YUCK!) and more blood work for cholesterol and I got the results today...yes, I have what my primary physician called the "tripod" of obesity or something like that...hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol.  Today I went in to start treatment for the diabetes & cholesterol.  I want this over and done with.  I so wish I had gone with RNY instead of Lap Band the first time around. Now...it's just a waiting game.  Wait for UnitedHealthcare to finalize a new contract with another hospital because they are no longer contracted with Mount Sinai...this will be mid-March (maybe).   I need prayers.  I'm scared although I'm not entirely sure why...I guess I've gotten a wake up call of just how sick my obesity has made me and the issues it's brought into my life with work, relationships, etc.  I need a break, I've been through so much already and I really, really, really need your prayers and encouragement so that I don't lose faith when it seems so close now.  Thanks for reading this far.

I want you to know that I can totally relate with what you are going through.  I was previously seeing a doctor who led me to believe that he could help me with my revision to then be told that he thinks I should have a 2nd opinion and find someone with more experience.  This is after I had paid program fees.  Jumped all the hoops that they required and spent all the money.   I have an appointment today with a new doctor today and we will see what happens.  Take it one day at a time and believe God that all will work out for you.

Just a quick note to inform newbie’s searching for info on Revision surgeries....have you looked into DS?  It's an option overlooked by many.  Go to the DS forum on OH and ask questions....we have quite a few revised to DS from other WLS
