Hi Martha,    I'm having my Stomaphyx next Friday  2/1  at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston.  I actually live in Connecticut so it is a bit of a haul, but I just take the train.  I actually had the gastric bypass back in 1981 or 82 when it was a very new surgery and I really had no good follow up or nutritional help.  I lost I think around 120 lbs (I swam just about every day that summer), but really only maintained it for probably a couple of years.  Here I am 20 some odd years later having lived my entire life morbidly obese, so I am excited at the prospect of having a 2nd chance if you will, and finally having the success I've wanted all my life.  I want to feel that I am in control and improve my self image...say a few prayers for me!!!     I'm curious, since you've only gained 30 lbs why do a revision?  Is there a possibility that Weigh****chers or some other program can help you? Take Care! Sue

Dr. Schlesinger, thanks for the advice!  I will call his office and see if there will be a proctor.  I take it that EndoGastric Solutions makes the stomaphyx device?  If Dr. Shikora has been taught the procedure, and he will be with another attending, is there still the need for a proctor?  I'm not real clear on who has patented this device and/or procedure (if it  has been) .  How are the surgeons trained?  He may have told me and I may not have processed the information .  Has EndoGastric  Solutions certified the surgeons that perform the procedures?  Is there anywhere in the country that Stomaphyx is being paid for other than by the patient?  I am also participating in Behavioral Change groups and have been seen by an excellent Exercise Physiologist. Hi All,    I got some information that Dr. Schlesinger advised me about.  My Stomaphyx procedure which will be done on Feb 1st will have I think 2 people from EndoGastric Solutions, a Clinical Specialist and I think someone else and I believe one or both of them will be scrubbed up and in the room.  This is wonderful news to me as it really has boosted my confidence level since Dr. Schlesinger said that if someone was there from Endogastric Solutions then I and my doctor were in good hands!   So now I prepare as my procedure is actually next Friday, and I'm quite excited about it.  I am looking forward to achieving my goal and I am being entirely positive about the whole thing.  I was greatly encouraged by the woman whos  mother had  Stomaphyx in Aug 07 and has lost 60 lbs so far.      Any Stomaphyx testimonies out there? Sue
