For those of  you who have travelled to get your Stomaphyx procedure done, what are you doing about post op care if the Dr.'s in your area don't perform the procedure?

From those have already had the procedure, I haven't found anyone who needed aftercare.  The patients that used local doctors are visiting their doctors monthly so that the doctors can learn how they are doing.  There is no cutting.  One worst case scenario is that you fill the pouch too much before the scaring takes hold, & pop out the pleats... which can negate the surgery.   It seems reasonable to hope that I will not need aftercare.  If by chance something does go awry, I will visit a local WLS surgeon for opinion.   I'm not sure if it's possible, but if the stoma becomes too small, I would have to get it dilated.
