I had a vbg in 2001 and what a joke that has been. I am wanting to have a revision to the RNY. I have already been approved for surgery and all, but I have something that is bothering me. I am 64 years young and some people think I am crazy at my age to be trying to loose weight, much less have another weightloss surgery. Any input will be appreciated.  Pat Parker

I haven't had surgery but I'm 61 and want to have it as soon as the hospitals in Austin are certified for Medicare reimbursement.  I'm on disability in part because of my obesity. Health and feeling good about one's self is not defined by age.  I am a big proponent of doing whatever we can to remain or become more healthy. That's just my take on it.  Now some people may be too fragile at any age so I believe age is just a number. See what the surgeon says...and don't listen to nay sayers...they don't live in your 64 years young body nor do they have a medical degree. Betty
