I had surgery 3 years ago. I was a lightweight, needing to lose 100lbs (5'1"). Lost that, and gained back 55. I have federal BCBS (PA). I'm looking into seeing if a revision from RNY to DS would be: 1. Approved by a doctor & 2. Covered by my insurance When I had my original RNY, it was still considered "experimental" Any info. would help - getting into the depressed mode. I could see a bounceback of 20lbs, but 55!!! Do you think a Dr. would do a revision? Thank you soooooo much!

HI JENNIFER...YOU MAY WANT TO LOOK INTO THE ENDOSCOPIC TIGHTENING. I HAD ALSO LOST 100LBS AND HAVE GAINED BACK 45LBS. PLEASE CHECK OUT THESE TWO WEBSITES. YOU CAN FIND INFORMATION ON ENDOSCOPIC REPAIRS FOR GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENTS. http://community.nursingspectrum.com/MagazineArticles/article.cfm?AID=14602 http://www.brighamandwomens.org/gastroenterology/gastricbypass.aspx I AM ALSO VERY DEPRESSED OVER THIS. I HAD OPEN RNY DONE 5 YEARS AGO ALSO. THE DOCTOR NEVER TOLD ME I WOULD GAIN THIS WEIGHT BACK. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU...KAREN MASON

What is your current BMI? Do you have comorbidities? I think those would the very important questions in determining insurance eligibility. Sue
