Stomach Stapling ?? revision??

Hello all, I have a friend that had stomach stapling surgery in 1985. She is thinking about a revision. Has anyone here had this done? What type of revision surgery did you have? I will post this on the main board too. Thank-you all !! Brenda S

I had the stomach stapling back in the 80's also, and just had an Open RNY done in Dec 2005. I am doing very well, have lost 65 lbs and I am so happy I did it. It was tough in the beginning I had alot of scar tissue they had to deal with and I had a drain in for about a month, but after about 4-5 weeks I began to feel better. I have so much more energy now!! Laura R
