Topic: RE: Cloud Bread

It's mostly pure protein and the numbers are great.  Plus, like my using zucchini spaghetti in lieu of pasta is not a trigger . . .this serves the same purpose.  I prefer using a cloud bun for tuna or whatever, rather than a lettuce wrap.  2 halves of my cloud bread are 43 cals, 0 carbs, and 4 gms of protein.

Topic: RE: Cloud Bread

Oh my gosh, I just came to this forum to post about the exact same thing! I made a batch last night and was supposed to have a "sandwich" for lunch today, but my hubby called last minute and took me out on a lunch date.  So I'll be trying it tonight. What did you think?

I was trying to talk to my husband about it over lunch today and was wondering if this would be a trigger food or a slippery slope to bringing back bad habits (I made a joke about bringing them to an Indian restaurant and sopping up sauces with it like naan). He didn't think my joke was funny and said that no food should be a trigger for me at 9 months out, I should be over those issues. I've got to think more on that one.

Anyway, back to the "bread". I didn't think they were too hard to make and am excited about the prospect of "toast".  I calculated about 28 calories per "slice" and 1.8 grams of protein.

If anyone else has made them or has thoughts on adding them to meal plans, let me know. My question was going to be around it being a trigger food or just "empty" calories and should it be avoided.

That sounds really good my wife bought me one of those air fryers, so we cooked our turkey in the oven, then did our roast potatoes in the air fryer and it was actually really really good! Thanks for the recipe I will try it out for sure!

Topic: RE: Vanilla Premier Protein Powder??

I use protein powder, since I have been going to the gym I was advised too from my PT, its good to repair muscles and if you mix fruit with them then they can fill you up. With mine I always put apples and strawberries its really good!

My Gp said going vegetarian was the best thing I could possibly do for my health and the cardio said dont. So there you have two health professionals
who cant agree.

Topic: RE: craving ground beef- any new recipes

My great grandmother always made a meal called Con carny. Its ground beef, kindey beans, diced tomatoes and wide ribbon pasta. Salt to taste
You have to drain as much liquid as you can from the diced tomatoes and stew them with some butter, you have to cook them long enough to scortch them. Then you brown the beef. Cook the pasta and throw in kinday beans and put it all together. I really liked it growing up, and I make it myself now that she's gone.

Fry or bake salmon or cod fish in a tablespoon of oil - I prefer to fry because I know they are done.
Meanwhile, combine 1/4 cup olive oil, 3/4 cup Panko crumbs, 1 tbsp. minced garlic and a tsp rosemary in a small pot. Cook over medium or high heat on stovetop, stirring frequently, bout five minutes until browned. Turn heat off. Arrange fish on serving plates and spoon the crumbs evenly over the top. Serve with lemon wedges.
